PWG Genetics & Laboratories Group is looking for a Laboratory Animal Veterinarian


                Duties & Responsibilities: 

  • As Animal Care Unit Veterinarian, will oversee the daily operations of PWG Genetics Pte. Ltd. (Singapore) Animal Facility, developing and implementing a program of veterinary care and preventive medicine, developing training programs in animal care for research staff, providing clinical and surgical support for animal research projects, and serving as a member of the IACUC in the review and approval of animal research protocols to ensure compliance with the NACLAR guidelines (Singapore) and AAALAC requirements.
  •  Report to the Deputy Chief Operating Officer, PWG Genetics Pte. Ltd. (Singapore), will be primarily responsible for overseeing the daily husbandry operations of a lab animal breeding and supply business and developing contract research services.
  • Responsibilities will include supervising and training of animal care staff and researchers using animals, establishing internal quality assurance programs to maintain sanitation and biosecurity standards, implementing health monitoring program for animals, participating in training programs and conducting science-based projects.
  • Other Responsibilities Include: 

1. Provide preventive and clinical veterinary care with a major emphasis on the NACLAR guidelines (Singapore) and AAALAC requirements.
2. Supervise animal care staff, technicians and surgical suite staff

3. Contribute to the development of institutional animal care and use policies and procedures. 
4. Participate in the training of personnel in the appropriate care and use of laboratory animals and IACUC protocol review. 
5. Work with Investigators both within the company and external parties to develop a range of contract research services.

6. Conduct various Vet. Surgical Operation and Imaging works (You will learn MRI, CT, PET,  X-Ray, Ultra Sounds…..)

  • Applicant Qualification:

1.       DVM (Mater or Ph.D plus) - Licensed Vet

2.       Min. Work Experience: 5 or more years

3.       Overseas Job Experience preferred

4.       Good Physical Condition (Health check will be required including drug addiction)

5.       Male (not more than 35 years old)

6.       Driving License (Preferred)

7.       Full Time position available

8.       Willing to work in Singapore

  • Prepare monthly placement volume & ensure farms keep up the scheduled placement dates
  • Do 4 week rolling harvest forecast & coordinates with farms for the desirec ALW
  • Check Contrac Grower liquidation & prepare necessary attachments like medvacc DR, DOC, DR, etc.
  • Attest DOC Placements
  • Do regular farm visits to check farm depletion, feed consumption, FCR & ALW
  • Do routine necropsy to check bird's health status
  • Monitor medvec inventory & coordinate w/head office for shipment/deliveries
  • Monitor if management standards in growing out chickens are well implemented

Requirements:

  • Candidate must possess Bachelor's/College Degree in Veterinary Medicine or equivalent
  • With significant experience in the field of Broiler Production
  • Licensed Veterinarian
  • Performance oriented and self-motivated
  • Can work with minimum supervision
  • Must possess valid driver's license
  • Must be willing to spend most of the time in the field and beyond working hours
